O tímido Elliot, o preguiçoso Sedgewick e o inseguro George, são três amigos vegetais que sonham em um dia participar de um show de piratas. Mas muito problemas interferem na realização desse sonho. Até o dia em que voltam no tempo, em pleno século 17, com a missão de resgatar a família real que foi seqüestrada por um maldoso tirano. Porém, para isso terão de finalmente aprender a agir como piratas.
